As someone recovering from diabetes and bulimia and having been in thereapy with many persons with Anorexia, what *I* find offensive is how skinny the model is. MAJOR irony there, don't you think?
ALSO: eating disorders are psychiatric disorders folks. They can't help their behaviour without some SERIOUS help, no more than someone with bi polar disorder or any other form of mental illness. Those of you with eating disorders who find this offensive: HEY at least there's folks out there cheering us on to get better!

A close friend of mine died after her body just shut down in her sleep after years of battling with eating disorders. My best friend right now has been struggling with them and was in the hospital for EDs at age thirteen.
It's really not a subject to attempt to make light of. People recovering from EDs may find this shirt funny and that's because humor, that is, laughing at ourselves, is a really powerful way of overcoming fear or insecurity. However, nothing can justify wearing this shirt in public. If I saw someone wearing this shirt, I would have no second thoughts confronting them and telling them they're a neanderthal. Making light of controversial and sensitive subject is a commonality, and it's also a sign of a feeble and stunted intellect.

It's a mental disease, just like depression, schizophrenia, dissociation disorder, OCD, etc, and is treated as such by medical professionals. NO; I just had too much high-fructose corn-syrup in my diet. Anorexia's not a mistake you can just get over and live to regret. If Rabbit had anorexia, (s)he'd probably only have surviven this long by having been treated by a medical professional who would've explained this.

I've had an eating disorder (or have one) and I still think this shirt is funny =D but I'm am pretty hard to offend. I think the comments here are MUCH worse than the actual shirt. An eating disorder is a disease like bipolar or depression or schizophrenia, it's a mental disorder that can't be solved by eating something.

Bones is only one symbol for anorexia. People with this disorder are not interested in violence I can tell you that. They also don't have the intention to fight other people who are anorexic or skinny. Someone who is dying from the disease might see themselves as overweight but no one want's to die from it or is PROUD of their problem. It symbolizes extreme starving and fucking death, not ALL PEOPLE with anorexia
